Enhancing self-awareness skills.

Our needs change as we age, and so must the way we move. Contemplative Movement Training sessions are essentially private sessions designed to help you understand how to safely move in your body and participate in mindful movement of your choice. These sessions are perfect for individuals wanting to better understand how to apply yoga asana, (physical movement), tai chi, and/or qigong with or without an injury or chronic condition. This type of training is also ideal for people that are unfamiliar with these movement practices and uncertain where to start. These sessions truly meet you where you are at.

  • Learn specifically how to apply yoga, tai chi and/or qigong to your body (beginners) or learn how to modify your current practice to fit your body’s needs (experienced practitioners).

  • Work with an instructor that will carefully curate movements that are appropriate to your body, offering a safe space to nurture mindful movement and enhance wellness.

  • Consider a broader application of contemplative movement by considering exploration of meditation, breathing, philosophy, mind-body skills, and mindfulness as supplemental techniques to optimize your practice.

Contemplative movement training is a non-clinical service focusing on teaching the practice of specific types of movement. Individuals with injury or chronic conditions can participate and modifications can be taught, but instruction will be generalized. If you are seeking specific instruction and plan of care to target a medical condition or injury, please consider an integrative physical therapy consultation, which will provide a personalized and carefully curated plan to meet your individual needs from a clinical expert.
